"And where did you
have that framed" ……….. can be said
two ways with two meanings..
We value our customers and firmly believe that:
 |
|
When you take your
work home and hang it, we want you to appreciate for a long
time what we have framed for you. If you give it away as a
present, then it is framed so it will last for many years.
We proudly put our name on what we frame;
|
 |
|
When you come to us we appreciate
that you want a professional job done and we aim to give all
the attention and care your treasured items deserve from us
as professional framers;
|
 |
|
We aim to use the best and most
appropriate framing methods we can at all times, as we value
your continued support;
|
 |
|
We accept that the words "and
where did you have that framed" can be said two ways.
It looks smart and you are proud to hang it in your place:
not second rate and roughly framed;
|
 |
|
Matisse Framing keeps accurate
records of what we frame and these go back to Nov 1992 and
1990 for QUT framing. We have many people who require items
framed in a similar way to how we previously framed something;
|
 |
|
Because of the quality of materials we use we
know from experience our framing will last. |
Our Policy – If you have a problem
with our framing we must know about it. This helps us to change
our methods if required, as we never stop learning or solving
problems if they occur.
Customer satisfaction is of paramount
importance for us and we always hope there is a partnership
between you and Matisse Framing.

We use Alphamat Matboards - Conservation and
Museum Quality
The Alphamat Artcare System provides an envelope
of active protection around artwork. Through a unique, patented
technology, Artcare products trap and neutralize the pollutants
that damage artwork, thereby significantly prolonging the
life of the framed image. The Alphamat Artcare System outperforms
all current museum quality boards, and redefines Museum Quality
Framing. All other boards fade in comparison. We offer the
full Alphamat range - regular, fabrics, textures, suedes and
other specialties.
Other features are: acid – free and lignin
free, fade and bleed resistant, buffered to maintain an alkaline
pH. This slows art and paper degradation, fading and ageing,
We also use these matboards as a 4 ply behind
valuable items when we are hinging artwork. We do not hinge
artwork to the matboard. |
|
We do not use the white core or paper Matts
that are only buffered to an alkaline pH. We will only use this
lower quality board if specifically requested.
Besides clear and Non-reflective glass,
we offer UV conservation glass and recommend that it be used on
valuable items. It also comes as either clear or non–reflective.
The UV Conservation Clear glass and the
UV non-reflective glass both remove 97% of the UV light that damages
or fades artwork.
|
This is another acid free product
we use. It has an acid free adhesive applied to a plastic
sheeting to which we mount many items such as degrees and
photos. Using this product allows us to reduce the wave
(cockling) in the artwork and leaves it with a flat finish.
No moisture or acid can reach the artwork directly from
the back.
We use acid free foamboard. With
valuable artwork this is positioned behind the 4 ply backing.
|
 |
Where applicable we use many other
products to preserve what we frame for you. Some items include
stainless steel staples and rods to avoid rusting or deterioration.
A lot of items (eg fabrics) are sewn into place. Acid free
hinges or Mylar are also used where applicable. |
